Apply for a Loan

Members can now apply for loans online from this page.

You need a working e-mail address, be at least 18 years old and a current Member with a Membership number.

The online loan application process consists of three steps:
  1. Register to start an application by giving your e-mail address and some other details;
  2. You will receive an e-mail (normally within 20 seconds) with your unique link to your loan application;
  3. Complete the 6 parts of the loan application using your unique link and then Submit it at the end.

Once you submit your loan application, you will receive a confirmation e-mail along with details about any additional information you need to supply before we can assess your loan - normally copies of bank statements. These can be submitted online too (the e-mail will contain instructions on how to do that).

As soon as we receive your bank statements our loans officers will be notified and the assessment process will begin. They may require additional information - we will normally contact Members by e-mail for speed and convenience.

When will I know if my application has been approved?
Members are now also able to check the status of their loan application online, at any time by using your unique loan application link. This is kept up to date at all times and means you don't need to phone and wait to find out.

If we can offer you a loan we will send you an e-mail with a link to your unique, online Loan Agreement for electronic signature. It is quick and easy to do.

If we are unable to offer you a loan at that time, you will receive an e-mail explaining our decision.

How long does it take to get a decision?
This varies considerably depending on the amount of information you provide, the accuracy of the information you provide and the method you use to supply information. For example, if you post bank statements to us it will delay our assessment of your loan by several days whilst we wait for the post to arrive. If you provide everything online, soon after you get the e-mail asking for it, we may be able to assess your loan within 1 or 2 working days, depending on how busy we are. Once we've assessed your loan, you will have an offer or decline e-mail within a few minutes.

Do I have to apply online? What if I don't have an e-mail address?
Applying online is quicker and easier, but you can still apply by submitting a paper loan application form. You can pick one up at a branch or access point, or download it from here.

I'm not yet a Member, can I apply for a loan?
We are only able to offer loans to Members. Joining is quick and easy, and can be done online too. It typically takes us less than 1 working day to set up a new Member and give you a Membership number. Once you have the Membership number you can begin the loan application process online. You will need to have paid in at least £1.00 before we can legally permit you to borrow from us.
